Ocean Spray B&B is situated on the Muckross Head Peninsula which is at the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht - the Irish speaking area.Surfing, Swimming and Bathing
There are two beaches in Muckross which are only a 5 min walk away from Ocean Spray B&B. Trá Lobhair beach is ideal for surfing. The other beach, Trá Bhán, has a car park and toilets and is ideal for swimming and bathing.
Painting & Birdwatching
The tranquil setting of Muckross Head makes it an ideal location for artists and birdwatchers. Muckross Head is home to large numbers of breeding seabirds and wintering geese and amongst its rarer inhabitants is included the Red-billed Chough.Hill Walking
Croagh Muckross
Croagh Muckross is a nice climb for hill walkers where 5 counties can be seen from the top making it a truly enjoyable adventure. At low tides one can access the back of the headland and view the cave formations caused by erosion through the ages.Slieve League Cliffs
The cliffs are just a 15 minute drive from Ocean Spray. This is a great day out where you can experience the highest sea cliffs in Europe at 600m. Enjoy the lovely walk with spectacular scenery along the cliffs and experience the thrilling 'One Man's Pass' to Malinbeg 16km west near Glencolmcille.Further afield in Donegal and Sligo their are many locations for hill walking accessible in less than an hour's drive from Ocean Spray B&B, These include the Blue Stack Mountains, County Donegal and Ben Bulben & the Ox Mountains, County Sligo.
